University Of British Columbia Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded based on both merit and need. University of British Colombia offers fifty scholarships every year. The scholarship cuts across across four categories: the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award, the Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award, the International Impact Award, and the Vantage One Excellence Award.  Awards are based on need, with the university dedicating approximately $10 million CAD a year to the fifty recipients in the program. To qualify  for this scholarship, you must be an international student on a Canadian study permit entering University of British Colombia from a recognised secondary school or transferring from your first year at another college or university. You must have graduated from high school no earlier than June 2021 and be applying for your first undergraduate degree. Further more, you must demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent you from pursuing a degree at UBC.

Dalhousie University Scholarship

Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS)

This scholarship is designated for  students enrolled in graduate studies at  the  nineteen publicly funded Ontario universities. These universities are listed below:

International students who are currently studying or planning  to study a full-time graduate program (master’s or doctoral level) at one of the 19 participating universities in Ontario under a valid temporary resident visa (student study permit) are eligible for OGS awards. Currently registered international graduate students who have not yet been able to obtain a study permit due to COVID-19 circumstances are also temporarily eligible to apply. Applications are assessed on merit and must meet the criteria set by the participating schools. It offers $5,000 CAD per term. Thus, awardees may receive $10,000 CAD for two consecutive terms or $15,000 CAD for three consecutive terms.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

The University of Saskatchewan is one of the Canadian universities where international students have access to the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships. This scholarship was initiated by the Canadian government in a bid to attract international scholars.

Ondaatje Scholarship

This scholarship began in 2003 when Sir Ondaatje donated a huge sum to the University to finance one-year scholarships for Buckingham graduates carrying out research at postgraduate studies at Buckingham, and for Buckingham students attending Massey College, University of Toronto, to undertake postgraduate studies there. Students who obtain a Master’s degree are then eligible to apply to have their PhD studies funded by the University of Toronto.Four scholarships are offered to students undertaking postgraduate studies at Buckingham to students commencing their studies in September or January. Each scholarship is awarded on merit and is open to competition. The scholarships value up to £4,000 each towards the tuition fees for one year’s postgraduate study.Any applicant  interested in applying for the Ondaatje Scholarship should already have the offer of a place at Buckingham for postgraduate study, but cannot apply once they have began  their Master’s degree. Fairleigh Dickinson Scholarships for International Students

DU offers a range of merit scholarships for our international masters students. The scholarship value is 1,500 per year. It is designed for families with two or more dependent children simultaneously attending FDU. Students enrolled in Wroxton College, summer sessions, inter-sessions and mini-sessions are not eligible for these scholarships. The scholarship is renewable for up to two years for graduate students and beneficiaries can still qualify for merit-based scholarships.
